Inflexibility At Hope, we understand that children with autism do have restricted interest. We endeavour to expand each child's range of activities on a daily basis. This is achieved through the use of choice boards, a vast range of teaching materials and activities through constantly being encourage to try new things and engage in novel activities. The use of a theme per week in our curriculum facilitate the introduction of a new activity everyday eg. Myself, animals, Autumn, Halloween, Christmas, etc. Each theme is explored through the following activities. We have art & craft on Mondays, sensory on Tuesday, food activities on Wednesdays, music on Thursdays and massage relaxation on Fridays (the days for these varies according to the centers availability). Hope places great importance on supporting children to develop a broad range of preferred activities. Back to Key Areas |
